Welcome to Shrine Tattoo Studios! We’re thrilled to have you considering us for your next piece of body art. We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help guide you through your tattoo journey with us. If you’re in Providence, RI, or the surrounding areas, we’re your go-to spot for incredible ink!
Understanding the cost of your tattoo is crucial, and we get that. Here at Shrine Tattoo Studios, we believe in transparency and tailoring your tattoo to your budget and vision. The price of a tattoo varies, influenced by size, detail, color choice (color vs. black & grey), needle configurations, time taken, and placement on the body.
We prefer not to give exact quotes over the phone, as many factors like how the ink settles in your skin or how you handle the process can alter the final cost. For larger tattoos, our artists often work at an hourly rate and might split the sessions to be gentler on both your skin and budget. Each artist has their own rates, so feel free to ask them directly. We're committed to working within your budget, tweaking designs when necessary, to make your dream tattoo a reality.
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. Generally, getting a tattoo feels more like discomfort than pain. However, some body parts like the ribs, throat, inner arms and elbows, inner thighs, and hands & feet can be more sensitive.
Our artists at Shrine Tattoo Studios prioritize your comfort. We can discuss using a topical anesthetic during your consultation. Post-tattooing, following our aftercare guidelines will help alleviate any soreness and speed up healing.
Ready to take the plunge? Book your appointment by calling us at (401) 330-7256. If we're tied up, leave a voicemail, and we'll get back to you promptly. Many of our artists also use booking apps – check their bios for links. We offer free consultations to brainstorm your tattoo ideas. Note that a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot, which will be deducted from your final tattoo cost.
Typically, a tattoo heals within 10 days to 2 weeks, provided you follow our aftercare advice. Keep the area in loose, comfortable clothing, and consider skipping the gym for a few days to avoid infection risks. For a full list of do's and don'ts during the healing process, like avoiding swimming or sunbathing, check out our aftercare section.
While we love cash for its immediacy, we understand it's not always the most convenient. So, we also accept major credit cards, debit cards, and Venmo. Choose what works best for you!
While we love animals and your children very much, we ask that you please don't bring them with you to your appointment for health and safety reasons. Please don't leave 'em in the car either!
Our shop offers ample free parking in the lot behind the building as well as on the street!
